My Reading Project

In term 3 team 12 Did some research on our house representatives with Mrs D.  First we had to choose a house representative(I choose Sir Edmund Hillary because I'm in his group).  First we did some research about them.  Did you know that he had 3 children?  Then we had to write a paragraph about him and his family.  Then  we had to do a paragraph on "why is he celebrated today".  He is celebrated today because  he is the first person in the universe to climb Mt Everest.  Then we did a paragraph on his hobbies and interests.  One of his hobbies are drawing mountains.  Then we published it.  For an example look at my picture.  Here is an interesting fact he was born on 20th July 1919 in Auckland hospital.  I hope you learnt something today.

Weeks Words

In Room12 some students have been using this app called this weeks words.  I like this app because we test ourselves instead of going to the teacher for testing.  This app is on our class ipad and ipods.

100 Word Challenge

The storm had just cleared up.   Trees had fallen down, the power’s out.   It had flooded.   I went for a walk to look at the destruction.   When I walked past a mud puddle I saw that someone was stuck upside down.   I wasn’t sure the person was alive.   I started to pull on its legs when they started to kick.   I pulled harder, then a head popped out of the mud.   It was my little cousin.   I took her home to my Mum.   My Mum said “I’m taking her to the doctors”.  The doctor said “There’s  little hope for her”.

My Speech

 In week 8 term 3 the senior school did speeches.  We had three topic choices.  I chose what I'm unique.  I had three really funny parts in my speech.  Here is one funny line Imagine that beautiful crow I could wear to school every day.  You could call me Queen Brennaaaaaaaaaa!  That day after lunch Mrs D told us who got through to the semi finals.  These are the people who got in Emily . . .Arzoo . . . Katie . . . and last but not least MEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I honestly thought that Chayse would get through because his speech was cool.  I was so happy with myself.  But I didn't get through to the finals : ( I'm really proud of myself for getting up infront of all those people : )

The Violent Storm Was by Brenna

As the wind crashed upon our house, and the leaves filled the gutters I trembled in fear while trying to find my mother when the power suddenly stopped, as a tree hit the power lines.  Then I heard my mother calling my name.  I was rushing towards the stairs when the house started to shake.  I hit the ground in pain.  I couldn't move.  I was screaming "MUM" while hoping my Mum would come rushing down the stairs.  My Mum came running down the stairs calling my name.  She saw me.  The storm cleared up.  The violent storm was horrible.

X-Country

On Friday the 13th of August the senior school did X-Country. We walked down to Minogue Park. Minogue Park is a dog walking park and some owners do not pick up the dog bi,z so we had to be careful to not stand in anything.  When we arrived the track was already set up so we just sat down on the tarp and wait for the first group to get warmed up.  My group was the 10 year old girls.  The 10 year old girls were the third group to race.  When we were lining up and waiting for Mr Peachy to do the clap the clappers I was just like "clap the clappers already" in  my head.  Then Mr Peachy said " on your mark... get set...           GO!!!!"  My trick was to just jog at the start instead of sprinting and wasting all of my energy, because I had to run 2 Kilometres!!!! On my first lap around I was coming 10th until I was running down the hill.  When I was running down the hill I was going so fast I couldn't stop myself.  At the bottom of the hill I just about fell over.  At the end I ended coming 9th : ) : ) : )!!!! I was very proud of myself.

For home learning we had to finish the recipe for ingredients that make a good friend.  I hope liked my ingredients : ) 

W.O.W Reflectiion

This term the whole schools topic is design.   For inspiration we went to an awesome museum full of fashionable and wearable designs.  We went to the museum because we were making our own designs.  Our class ( team 12)  got paired up with room 5.  With our little junior buddies we got put in groups.  Our classes topic was nature.  My groups inspiration was a Rata tree that we saw on camp until...
We got given some black material that we did not need so we had to make a nest which was not on the tree so our inspiration was just a normal tree.
I thought our outfit would fall apart while Chayse was walking on the cat walk.  When the show started and our class went on I was nervous.  When I started to talk I was talking faster than what I was suppose to.

Finished Sock Monkeys

This term with Mrs D we made sock monkeys.  On my other post it was about making sock monkeys so...       this one is about my finished SOCK MONKEY!!!!!!!!!  It was so fun making the sock monkey.  I had to change my monkeys name to Mama Long Legs, instead of papa long legs.   I changed my monkeys name
because of the hair.

Kiwi Kids Quiz

This week for home learning we had to do a quiz on the website kiwi kids.com.  For my score I got 9 out of 10!!!!! :)  I thought I would get like 5 out of 10.  I was so happy when I found out my score at the end.

This week in Room 12 for home learning one of the activities is to do the kiwi kids quiz.  My result is 8 out of 10 questions correct . That is a pretty good score isn't it  : ] ?

My Audioboo

When Team12 got back from camp we got given a project to do.  One of the activities were to write a senses poem.  We got a choice to type it out and print it, or do an Audioboo.  I chose to do an Audioboo. If you want to listen to my Audioboo click bellow.

The Warrior Vist

Last week the Vodafone Warriors came to our school.  When we found out the Warriors were coming we were so excited, we could not wait to meet them.  When we got out to the field we saw the Warriors I was like"this is so cool meeting the Warriors".  First we got to know their names, then we split off in groups.  The first activity we did was when we had to pass the ball to the person next to you and run down the end and score a try.  Then we played octopus after that we played this cool game when we split off in to even groups, then our numbers got called out then we ran around a cone picked up the rugby ball and score a try.  At the end we got autographs and prizes.

2013 So Far...
