Making softies

In room12 we have been making some owls.  First of all we got a peace of practice fabric and learnt how to do a running stitch.  We had to draw a line with a sharpie and do a running stitch along it.  When we had mastered that we done circles, squiggle lines and different shapes.  Now comes the tricky part we had to do the with stitch.  We done it on our practise sheat of fabric.  Then we joined to peaces of fabric together.  When we had finished doing that we planed our owl.  Then comes the fun part we got the peaces of fabric that we needed and got to work.  When we started to sew the peaces on.  Then we stitched it up but left a big gape and stuffed it with stuffing and sewed it up.  My owl looks really cool. 

High Jump

At the start of term 4 we began to do high jump.  The first day we went out there I was excited.  When I lined up I was worried that my leg would hit the bar.  My leg did not hit the bar but later on my leg was hitting the bar a lot.  I was slowly getting better and better.  Now when I do high jump I am confident that I can do it.

My wordle

 

In the Blends spelling group we wrote a long a spelling chart.  When we had finished writing ten words per column we had a choice of making a wordle or a glogster.  To make a wordle the first thing to do is to write your words in a column on Microsoft word.  When we had finished doing that we copied it three times or two.  Then we went on Internet and went on wordle.  We then picked a shape and colour then we put it on our blog.

X-country

On Friday the 24th of August the Seniors and some middles went to cross country at Minogue Park .  My age group went first.  When we had done our stretches then we went to the starting line.  When the siren went we all started to run.  The first couple of steps I took my left shoe came off.  I picked it up and kept on going, then my Mum came and I threw my shoe at her. I was running around the big loop when I took off my shoe.  When I was near the finish my Mum came and ran with me.  When the race was over I found out I came 8th.  I was very pleased with myself.  I was very muddy.

Assembly Sharing

On Friday room12 shared their assembly.  Our assembly was about Remembrance.  There were different scenes about different parts of war .  I was in the the Morse code skit.  In my group we had Chayse, Desmond and myself.  We borrowed some head phones from the class, and got some boxes for the radio, and made a script.  I was also in the memorial service.  I said the speech for we will remember them. We all as a class sang the sand fly song.  I had lots of fun sharing assembly.

Remembrance

In room 12 we have been learning about ANZAC day and  alot of other things.  The one thing I liked was the Gallipoli slang.  We got two sheets of paper with slangs on it.  For example jam tin is a home made bomb made from explosive charge metal scraps, length of barbed wire and fuse.  These were made because there weren't enough bombs.  ANZAC button is a nail to hold up pants, and a digger is a shovel.  In groups we made a wreath.  First we made poppys with a red sheet of paper.  Then we cut out the poppys and glued them on a paper plate.  When we finished the wreath we wrote something important that we thought of  ANZACs and glued it on our wreath.
